Today the DERMASAFE examination platform includes a growing database of 566 competency-based examination questions developed specifically for different professional categories.

The project originally began with a competency verification program for professional tattoo artists. Soon afterward, tattoo studio owners requested an independent assessment designed specifically for studio management, operational safety and compliance. A completely separate examination database was created because managing a professional studio requires a different set of competencies than performing tattoo procedures.
The next step came from the permanent makeup community.
Rather than adapting existing questions, DERMASAFE developed an entirely independent examination specifically for PMU professionals, reflecting the unique standards and procedures of their profession.
International expansion introduced another important direction.
DERMASAFE launched its Verified Guest Artist verification, based on Bloodborne Pathogens competency principles that are widely recognized within the global tattoo industry. While obtaining similar credentials in many jurisdictions often involves administrative procedures, physical attendance and extended waiting periods, DERMASAFE enables professionals to complete the assessment digitally and receive their verified credential inside their personal account within a significantly shorter timeframe.
More recently, the platform expanded into professional cosmetology.
Following requests from medical cosmetologists and aesthetic practitioners, a dedicated competency assessment was created specifically for this sector. The current examination database contains 160 specialized questions, while an expanded version is already under development by experienced professionals.
